The 2025 AASuccess Yard Sale Fundraiser was more than just a day of selling gently used items—it was a community-building effort rooted in youth leadership, service, and preparation for future impact. Organized by the AASuccess Operations Team, the fundraiser aimed to generate funds for next year’s life skills training programs that support local high school and college students in their personal and professional development.
This year’s event was the largest yard sale AASuccess has ever hosted, featuring a wide range of in-kind donations including home kitchen appliances, clothes, toys, office supplies, decorations, and electronics. These generous contributions came from students’ families, friends, and dedicated volunteers. Beyond fundraising, the yard sale fostered community engagement and gave our student leaders a real-world experience in event planning, teamwork, communication, and adaptability.
- Timeline: May – June 2025
- May 2025: Planning began with item collection, pricing, and logistics coordination
- June 2025: Volunteer assignments and promotional outreach to local neighborhoods
- June 14, 2025: Yard Sale Day—set-up at 8 AM, sale from 9 AM to 2 PM
- Key Leads: Angela Le, Liem Nguyen, Lara Tran (AASuccess Operations Team)
- Result: The yard sale was a success, drawing many visitors from the surrounding community throughout the day. We officially opened at 9 AM and wrapped up by 2 PM, raising over $700 to support our 2026 student life skills training programs. More than just a fundraiser, the event became a memorable experience for everyone involved. Volunteers learned valuable lessons about signage visibility, layout planning, and customer interaction—while enjoying team bonding, laughter, and even a mini workout from hauling items in and out.
This fundraiser not only helped us move closer to our program goals but also reminded us that hard work, collaboration, and community spirit can go hand in hand.
