Asian American Success is proud to present the Wellness Service Event on August 8, 2010 at the Mason District Government Center from 7 AM to 2 PM. Students of AAS recognize the current issue of unequal access to healthcare and work to “perfect the act of giving back.” At the event, a wide variety of services specifically designed for the Asian community will be implemented by volunteer professionals and students, working hand-in-hand. There will be a preventative healthcare and a nutrition stations to educate patients on screenings appropriate for their age and daily habits they should keep in mind to take care of their health. There will also be a back pain therapy station and a physician check up center. Here, patients will have the opportunity to obtain their clinical evaluation from a physician and get their recommendations on the next step to take for their health. Physicians will also provide techniques that will help relieve back pain problems. This will allow the patients to self-practice at home and also pass it on to their family and friends.
