The 2017 Health Fair is the result of the collaboration between AASuccess and Hepatitis B Initiatives DC. The main purpose of this health fair is to raise awareness and to help the Vietnamese community living in the D.C. Metropolitan area who are coming from low-income families and not having health insurance coverage. The goal is to have an estimate of 150 people including patients, doctors, and volunteers at the health fair.
This health fair is a great opportunity for any students interested in the healthcare field, while volunteering at the event, to shadow and gain practical experiences from physicians and phlebotomists, which would greatly benefit them in the future.
We provide FREE flu shots and FREE health check ups. There will be a health information table to educate the community about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and having effective diets, as well as having information about some common diseases such as Hepatitis B & C. There will also be FREE consultation sessions on health insurance provided by official health insurance agents. Other services include:
Height and weight
Glucose (blood sugar)
Vision, including glaucoma (tentative)
